Question time

This morning I was asked by a friend

What would you say to your younger self today? When you look back you must be amazed at the path you have walked and your incredible strength

This is my rather wordy reply

I would have told my younger self to seek a second opinion and make sure that the specialists read the file and look at the scans next to each other, If I had done that I would more than likely have had surgery much earlier and more than likely have ended up with far fewer deficits.

The other thing would have been, talk to Q before things went very badly at his house....

I am very much amazed I have made it this far. If I hadn't had the surgery when I did I would not be here. My clock was winding down. Luckily it kept going as long as it did.

I have managed to do far more than I ever could have imagined possible and I owe that to the support, encouragement and love of so very many people.

Q stepped up to the plate and went above and beyond. Paul had a conversation with me that took me from winding down to having surgery.

I think I always have a bit of a weep on this day when I remember what it was like through those years, the physical pain and suffering, my family suffered with me and managed to make it through. There were those who helped, those who walked away and those who came out of the woodwork.

The short version: I had a 'turn' at Q's house. I couldn't remember how to open a door. Q was a specialist

Paul had a conversation with me that took me from winding down to having surgery.
Paul suggested that I get in contact with Dr Charlie Teo. If I hadn't done that I'd be pushing up the daisies now.
