Artwork Needed - 58 Prints

*ARTWORK NEEDED!*

The Gluyas Rotary Lodge in Townsville is desperately seeking donations of hanging prints of either landscapes or seascapes to brighten up the units for their guests. They are in need of around 40 framed pictures and donors are asked to please attach their names and a little message to accompany their donation.

The Gluyas Rotary Lodge provides accommodation for regional cancer patients undergoing outpatient cancer treatment in Townsville. They have 20, one and two bedroom units which are used by patients and their families from rural and coastal areas.

The Central Queensland Cancer Support Centre in Rockhampton is also in need of prints. A lot of their patients are from small, remote outback towns, and so are hoping to obtain pictures that reflect the outback lifestyle and / or represent the locations they are from.  They’d like to acquire 18 pictures, which will be displayed in their common kitchen and hallway areas.

Some history behind the Rockhampton Centre, in March 1993, 2 fully self-contained units were built behind the office of Cancer Council Queensland.  In September 2009, an additional 6 motel-style rooms were built to meet the rising demand for their accommodation service.  The Lodge was named The Central Queensland Cancer Support Centre and is often described as a home away from home for cancer patients and their families.

These are some of the prints that were donated to the Charles Wanstall Lodge in Herston

To make a donation, please contact me via this google+ post

If you can provide frames please do, if you cannot provide frames please consider donation of funds to help cover the cost of framing/printing. If you are wanting to donate funds towards to cost of frames/ink etc please head over to paypal and send it through to julia.robertson@gmail.com

Thank you all so very much for your continuing generosity and help with the last 100 prints and this current project for 58 prints.

Big thank you to Lexy and her CNET article

Things Just got serious!

In light of the overwhelming generosity and enthusiasm of the amazing photographers on Google Plus, and their incredible response to the call I put out on behalf of the Charles Wanstall Apex Lodge, I have contacted the Cancer Council again to see if any of the other lodges would be interested in receiving prints like those donated to CWAL.

I had a phone call today from Ron Cassels at The Gluyas Rotary Lodge in Townsville. They are thrilled with the idea and have put in a request. I am waiting on a reply from the Rockhampton Lodge before I open the donations and post the request numbers.

With that in mind, as soon as I'm back on my feet (I'm hoping Thursday) I'll be heading out to talk to local stores about the possibility of donations/discounts on frames and or ink armed with my receipts from the last 100!
